For more inspiration along the lines of the Azerrad book, I’d highly recommend “Our Noise: The Story of Merge Records, the Indie Label That Got Big and Stayed Small” and “This Book is Broken: A Broken Social Scene Story”.
I love this idea! Is it a movement? I wanna be a part of it! I started School of Machines, Making & Make-Believe in 2014 in some ways in a similar vain. I think it takes awhile to build something up while figuring out what it is exactly; certainly no one gets into alternative education for the money. Lol. We've only recently started to receive funding for different projects in which we're able to help fund ideas though we've been supporting artists and creative humans in other ways since the beginning. Slow starting but totally heading in the direction of what you describe. How do we join you?! Nonetheless, congratulations on this absolutely lovely endeavor! <3 Warmly, Rachel
Thanks for this, Yancey. I’ll be following along.
